Tech Mahindra, an Indian IT-BPM company, on August 15 announced a technological partnership with Jacksonville Jaguars. As the technology, analytics and digital strategy partner of the Jaguars, Tech Mahindra will provide next generation digital technology expertise, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics, to enrich fan experiences and create front office efficiencies. On occasion, CP Gurnani, chief executive of Tech Mahindra, said that the multi-year partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars will enable many new opportunities in the USA. Mark Lamping, Jaguars president, said that the strategic partnership with Tech Mahindra will enable a data-driven and technologically advanced approach to a variety of challenges that face a growing National Football League (NFL) franchise.
Owing to this partnership, Tech Mahindra will support the Northeast Florida community with technology awareness and education. Later this season, the Jaguars and Tech Mahindra will also announce a contribution to local schools. The partnership will create immersive fan experiences with digital technologies, which can help make the team smarter with AI and advanced analytics. Tech Mahindra is already familiar with Jacksonville as the parent company of the HCI Group, a healthcare IT consulting company headquartered in Northeast Florida. The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the 32 member clubs under the NFL. Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra a US$4.9 billion company with more than 113,550 professionals across 90 countries, serves over 926 global customers including Fortune 500 companies.
Tech Mahindra is part of the US$21-billion Mahindra Group that employs more than 200,000 people in over 100 countries. The company’s activities in the USA is part of a broader trend of Indian IT companies expanding operations in the nation. In January 2018, Tata Consultancy Services, entered into a multi-year deal with Transamerica to facilitate the transformation of its US insurance and annuity business lines. The new agreement, worth over US$2 billion in revenues, was the largest signed by TCS at the moment. Similarly, in November 2017, Infosys announced plans to set up a new design and innovation hub in the US state of Rhode Island, which will lead to 500 new jobs over the next five years. The new hub will enhance the company’s ability to provide design-driven, digital technologies across the US.
