The second India-Nordic summit will be attended by the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden and Norway.
Topics such as climate change, post-pandemic recovery, renewable energy, and global security will be discussed at the summit.
The PM also has a short meeting scheduled with Emmanuel Macron, the newly re-elected President of France.
India and Germany have signed nine agreements that include a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) under which Germany made an advance commitment of 10 billion euros to provide new and additional developmental assistance facilities to India till 2030
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the second India-Nordic summit in Denmark. On his 3-day tour of Europe, the PM will also meet the newly re-elected President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in Paris.
As a follow-up to the 2018 summit that took place in Stockholm, Sweden, the second India-Nordic summit will be attended by the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
Before his departure to Paris, Narendra Modi mentioned that the summit will solely focus on topics such as renewable energy, innovation and technology, climate change, post-pandemic recovery, developments in global security, and India-Nordic cooperation in the Arctic region.
After attending the India-Nordic summit, the Prime Minister has a short meeting scheduled with Emmanuel Macron, the newly re-elected President of France. On Monday, PM Modi arrived in Berlin to conduct bilateral discussions with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, before participating in the sixth India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations.
India and Germany have signed nine agreements that include a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) under which Germany made an advance commitment of 10 billion euros to provide new and additional developmental assistance facilities in India till 2030.
PM Modi also met with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen. During the meeting, issues prevailing in Ukraine were also discussed wherein India’s stand on the matters was re-iterated. The topics included India’s stand on the discontinuation of hostilities and a diplomatic resolution to bring peace.
The nine agreements signed by both the countries include the Declaration of Intent (DoI) on Migration and Mobility, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on skill development, vocational education and entrepreneurship, and the launch of energy policy dialogue at the ministerial level.
The Prime Minister was also attend a dinner hosted by the Queen of the Kingdom of Denmark, Margrethe II at the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen, marking the last day of his visit.
