Leading up to the Lok Sabha election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 14,000 projects valued at over INR 10 lakh crore in Uttar Pradesh through the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC 4.0) on Monday. Uttar Pradesh, contributing 80 Lok Sabha seats, is hosting the Global Investors Summit from February 19 to 21 at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. The UP government will conduct the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) 4.0 in the presence of PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As per the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Shri Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi is set to launch 14,000 projects across Uttar Pradesh valued at more than INR 10 lakh crore, based on investment proposals received during the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023) held in February 2023.

The Ground Breaking Ceremony will see the initiation of a total of 14,537 projects with an investment of INR 10,15,583 crores in the state. This comprises 300 projects with an investment of INR 500 crores, 895 projects with investments ranging from INR 100 to 500 crores, 4,577 initiatives with investments from INR 10 to 100 crores, and the majority being 8,735 projects with an investment of INR 1 to 10 crores. The implementation of these projects is expected to generate over 34 lakh jobs, according to the Chief Minister’s Office of Uttar Pradesh.

Approximately 5,000 participants, including industrialists, representatives of top global and Indian firms, ambassadors, high commissioners, and other distinguished guests, are expected to attend the program. During last year’s UPGIS held from February 10-12, Uttar Pradesh received investment proposals totalling INR 40 lakh crore.

Sectoral sessions will be conducted during the UP Global Investors Summit, focusing on AI, FDI, and CSR. The seminar aims to facilitate direct interaction with CSR heads of corporations, enabling them to gain insights into the impactful work done by their respective departments and consider providing funds to support charitable causes.

Mayur Maheshwari, the CEO of UPSIDA, stated that the authority has prepared MoUs worth nearly INR 1.5 lakh crore for Ground Breaking Ceremony 4.0 (GBC) in over 45 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Approximately 3,500 units are expected to establish their industries with an investment of INR 6,660 crore in various industrial sectors in Mathura. Bulandshahr is projected to receive an investment of INR 3,915 crore, Amethi INR 1,693 crore, Meerut INR 1,455 crore, Gautam Buddh Nagar INR 1,129 crore, and Aligarh INR 213 crore, as per the CEO’s statement.
