Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India has emerged as the fastest-growing major economy and a decisive global voice on issues like climate change and digital innovation during the 11 years of his leadership. As his government completed the first year of its third term on Monday, he described this period as marked by transformation and a focus on good governance.
He highlighted that 60% of the current Union ministers come from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. According to a link shared by him, this represents the highest-ever inclusion of these communities in the Union Council of Ministers—a point aimed at reinforcing the government’s commitment to social justice amid criticism from opposition parties.
In a post on X, Modi attributed the pace of change to the collective effort and support of 140 crore Indians. He said their participation has powered the country’s significant progress across sectors.
Modi noted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has worked under the guiding principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’—meaning unity, development, trust, and collective effort. He said these ideals have enabled swift, large-scale, and sensitive changes, with an emphasis on people-centric, inclusive development.
He acknowledged the successes of the past but said the government remains focused on the future, approaching it with renewed hope, confidence, and commitment to building a developed India. His post was accompanied by the hashtag ’11YearsOfSeva’, which celebrates 11 years of dedicated service to the nation, and included links detailing sector-wise progress.
The shared information credited Modi with bringing ‘Vikasvaad’ or development-focused politics into the mainstream, making it central to political debate and policymaking. Since taking office in 2014, the government has followed an ‘India First’ approach across all policies and actions, prioritising the nation’s interests and development in every decision.
Major accomplishments cited include free food grains for over 81 crore citizens, piped water connections for 15 crore households, construction of more than four crore houses for the poor, building of 12 crore toilets, loans to 68 lakh street vendors, 52.5 crore loans for small businesses, and direct financial support to 20 crore women during the Covid-19 pandemic.
