The IT PLI is a revolutionary leap for India’s IT hardware manufacturing, according to a statement from the Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT), as 27 companies, including industry giants Dell, HP, Flextronics, and Foxconn, secure approval under the production-linked incentive scheme. 

The government’s recent announcement allows these firms to benefit from the PLI scheme, covering a range of devices from laptops and tablets to PCs, servers, and ultra-small form factor devices, with anticipated incremental investments reaching around INR 3,000 crore.

Expressing confidence in India’s imminent rise to a leadership position in manufacturing and exporting IT hardware, MAIT sees this development as a game-changer, mirroring the transformative success witnessed in the Indian mobile phone industry.

The list of approved firms, including Dell, Foxconn, HP, Flextronics, VVDN, Optiemus, Padget Electronics, SOJO Manufacturing Services, Goodworth, Neolync, Syrma SGS, Mega Networks, Panache Digilife, ITI Ltd, and others, collectively marks a significant stride towards fostering a robust IT hardware manufacturing ecosystem in India.
