Industrial production grows by 1.4% in November: NSO

As per the National Statistical Office (NSO) the Industrial production in India saw a hike of 0.9% when compared to November 2020

In November 2020, the IIP had contracted by 1.6%.

April-November saw an increase of 17.4% against a total of 15.3% last year.

Industrial production contracted by 18.7% since March 2020.

In April it came down to 57.3% due to the lockdown curbs imposed.

November 2021 saw an increase in India’s industrial production to1.4% according to the official data released. According to the data by the National Statistical Office (NSO), the manufacturing sector’s output has grown by 0.9% in November last year, as per the Index of Industrial Production (IIP). During November 2020, the IIP had contracted by 1.6%. 

During April-November this fiscal year, IIP saw an increase of 17.4% against a 15.3% contraction in the corresponding period, last year. Due to the pandemic, Industrial production has contracted by 18.7% since March 2020. In April it came down to 57.3% due to a decline in  economic activities while the lockdown curbs were imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
