The 23rd PALM AV-ICN Expo 2025 in Mumbai showcases the country’s rise as a global AV and entertainment technology hub
Over 300 exhibitors and 25,000 professionals are participating in the expo, highlighting the sector’s scale and innovation
Government initiatives like the Smart Cities Mission and PLI schemes have catalysed demand for immersive, tech-enabled urban experiences
Retail, education, and hospitality sectors are increasing the adoption of AV and AI-driven solutions for smarter engagement
As India advances toward its $5 trillion economic milestone, investments in digital infrastructure, smart urban ecosystems, and emerging technologies are increasing. From logistics and mobility to live entertainment, government-backed programmes like the Smart Cities Mission and production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes are helping catalyse innovation across sectors.
Reflecting these national priorities, Mumbai hosted the 23rd edition of the PALM AV-ICN Expo 2025—South Asia’s largest exhibition for professional audio, video, and lighting technologies. With more than 300 exhibitors and over 25,000 professionals in attendance, the event has become a key platform showcasing India’s evolution as a global epicentre for AV innovation and experiential technology.
Speaking at the inauguration, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, said the country’s AV and lighting industries are transforming significantly. He pointed to growing demand for immersive experiences and the nation’s commitment to building smart, sustainable infrastructure as primary drivers of this shift.
Industry voices echoed this outlook. Anil Chopra, Founding Director of PALM Expo, emphasised that India is strategically positioned to lead in professional audio, lighting, and AV solutions. He highlighted that advances in broadband, artificial intelligence, and information technology are revolutionising product development, while reforms supporting MSMEs and large-scale manufacturing are attracting greater investment. With strong domestic demand backing this growth, India quickly emerges as a key player in the global AV supply chain.
Beyond the entertainment sector, AV-led innovation is increasingly being adopted in retail, education, and hospitality, transforming customer engagement, operational efficiency, and immersive experience delivery. As urbanisation accelerates—with India’s city populations projected to surpass 600 million by 2030—experts say deploying scalable, intelligent, and localised technologies will become vital.
Artificial intelligence is also reshaping traditional workflows, from predictive maintenance in smart buildings to real-time content streaming at large venues. This convergence of AV, immersive tech, and AI is rapidly becoming foundational to the country’s digital infrastructure and urban development approach.
