Indian defence exports reach INR 8K cr in 6 months: Defence Minister

The country aims to achieve an export target of INR 25000 crore by 2025

Before 2014, India's defence exports stood between INR 900-1300 crore

Last year, they stood at INR 13,000 crore

This year, are expected to reach INR 17,000 crore

India has earned a place among the top 25 global defence exporters

India’s defence exports reached INR 8000 crore in six months of FY23 and the country plans to achieve an export target of INR 25000 crore by 2025, according to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Recently, Singh mentioned that India has India’s defence exports cumulatively reached INR 30,000 crore over the last eight years.

Before 2014, India’s defence exports stood between INR 900-1300 crore. Last year, they stood at INR 13,000 crore and are expected to reach INR 17,000 crore this year.

Singh also said that the country has transformed from being an importer to an exporter, over a span of eight years. He further added that India has earned a place among the top 25 global defence exporters.

India’s largest defence expo is going to be held in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar this year. It will have more than 13,000 companies participating in it.
