GST Collection in September up by 10%

The amount has surpassed the milestone of INR 1.6 trillion for the fourth time in the current fiscal year

Goods and Services Taxes (GST) collection for September 2023 stood at INR 1,62,712 crore

Central GST amounted to INR 29,818 crore

Integrated GST reached INR 83,623 crore

Cess amounted to INR 11,613 crore

The gross GST collection surged by 10% in September 2023 compared to the same month last year, reaching INR 1,62,712 crore. The amount has surpassed the milestone of INR 1.6 trillion for the fourth time in the current fiscal year.

This amount was distributed as follows: Central GST amounted to INR 29,818 crore, State GST stood at INR 37,657 crore, Integrated GST reached INR 83,623 crore, including INR 41,145 crore collected from the import of goods, and cess amounted to INR 11,613 crore, including INR 881 crore collected from the import of goods.

In September 2022, GST collections stood at INR 1.47 trillion. The ministry further noted that revenues from domestic transactions, including the import of services, were 14% higher compared to the same month last year.
