Government to launch trade connect e-platform for exporters and MSMEs

The platform will provide information on global trade events, benefits from India's free trade agreements (FTAs), and other international trade-related data

In April-May of this fiscal year, Jamnagar led with exports worth $10 billion, followed by Kanchipuram, Mumbai, Pune, Kachchh, and Surat

The government is also considering an 80% concession for women entrepreneurs and a 50% concession for MSMEs in licensing fees for permits granted by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO)

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is currently reviewing this proposal

The government announced the development of a trade connect e-platform to enhance connectivity between exporters, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs with Indian missions abroad, export promotion councils, and other partner government agencies. This platform aims to offer comprehensive information on global trade events, benefits from India’s free trade agreements (FTAs), and other pertinent international trade-related data.

Significant districts showing healthy export growth include Jamnagar, Kanchipuram, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Kachchh. During April-May of this fiscal year, Jamnagar topped the list with exports valued at US$10 billion, followed by Kanchipuram with US$3.27 billion, Mumbai with US$2.24 billion, Pune with US$2.14 billion, Kachchh with US$2 billion, and Surat with US$1.98 billion.

Additionally, the government is considering implementing an 80% concession for women entrepreneurs and a 50% concession for MSMEs on licensing fees for permits issued by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO). The DPIIT is currently considering this proposal.
