The significance of rebalancing and the emergence of multipolarity was underscored during the meeting.

Jaishankar shared the interaction details on X (ex-twitter), expressing the importance of a forward-looking dialogue with key figures from the Russian strategic community. The discussion encompassed topics such as the rebalancing of global dynamics and the emergence of multipolarity. Views were exchanged on the anticipated development of India-Russia ties within this evolving framework, focusing on connectivity, multilateralism, big power competition, and regional conflicts. Jaishankar emphasised that the positive trajectory of India-Russia ties would be maintained through geopolitical considerations and strategic convergence.

As part of his 4-day visit to Russia, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov to discuss economic engagement. According to Russian figures, the bilateral trade stood at US$ 9.31 billion, with Indian exports at US$ 3.48 billion and imports at US$ 5.83 billion.
