Apple Inc.’s upcoming smartphone iPhone 15, is now entering the production phase in Tamil Nadu, India, as part of its strategic efforts to narrow the gap between its manufacturing operations in India and its primary production hub in China, according to media reports.
In Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, a facility managed by Foxconn Technology Group is gearing up to dispatch the latest iPhone units shortly after their initial rollout from Chinese factories. Media reports said that this move is aimed at swiftly increasing the volume of new iPhones manufactured in India
According to the reports, the goal for the current year is to synchronize shipment schedules from India and China, although suppliers are still determining the feasibility of achieving this aim.

The anticipated unveiling of the upcoming iPhone is expected to take place around September 12, marking a significant advancement for the device after three years. Notable improvements include a substantial upgrade to the camera system across all variants, with the Pro models set to feature an enhanced 3-nanometer A16 processor.
Other Apple suppliers operating in India, including Pegatron Corp. and Wistron Corp., undergoing acquisition by the Tata Group, are also poised to commence assembly of the iPhone 15.
