PM Modi Boosts Diplomatic Ties with Qatar in Bilateral Talks

Accompanied by the external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, PM Modi arrived in Doha on Wednesday night

The discussions between PM Modi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, his Qatari counterpart, focused on enhancing ties between New Delhi and Doha.

Leaders exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology sectors.

The meeting also addressed recent regional developments in West Asia, highlighting the shared commitment to upholding peace and stability in the region.

As part of the visit's agenda, Prime Minister Modi attended a dinner hosted in his honour by the Prime Minister of Qatar, further strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two nations

On the second day of his official visit to Qatar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ceremoniously welcomed and held a bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar in Doha. Accompanied by the external affairs minister, S Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, PM Modi arrived in the capital on Wednesday night.

Earlier, PM Modi inaugurated the first Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi and engaged in bilateral meetings with prominent leaders. In Doha, he engaged in discussions with his counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, focusing on strengthening the ties between New Delhi and Doha.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders shared their perspectives on expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology. The meeting also addressed recent regional developments in West Asia, underscoring the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region. The Qatar foreign ministry mentioned that  Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who is visiting the country. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and ways to support and develop them, especially in energy, commerce, and investment. 

As part of the visit’s agenda, Prime Minister Modi attended a dinner hosted in his honour by the Prime Minister of Qatar.
