The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya can generate 150,000-200,000 direct and indirect jobs in the temple town and its surrounding areas within the next 4-5 years, according to estimates from the human capital management platform Betterplace. Additionally, the expected increase in construction activities, including hotel expansions, apartment units, healthcare facilities, and other infrastructure developments, could result in an additional 50,000-100,000 temporary jobs in the region over the next few years.
Experts in various fields such as hotels, hospitality, tourism, food and beverages, daily essentials, personal care products, healthcare, banking, and construction predict a surge in demand for manpower as the region transforms into a hub for religious tourism. Betterplace’s projections are based on an anticipated annual footfall of 50 million people in the coming years. It is also anticipated that the hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors will contribute 20,000-25,000 permanent and temporary jobs annually, focusing on roles such as hotel staff, housekeeping, front-desk management, chefs, and multilingual tour guides.
The Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector is expected to be a significant recruiter, with the potential establishment of ATMs and small branches in response to increased demand. Corporate leaders acknowledge Ayodhya’s inclusion on their marketing map, anticipating substantial growth, particularly in the hospitality, restaurant, and real estate sectors. According to a global brokerage firm Jefferies report, the Ram Temple’s economic impact could attract over 50 million tourists annually.
