India’s exports of toys have surged by an impressive 60%, climbing from US$ 203.46 million in 2018-19 to US$ 325.72 million in the fiscal year 2022-23, according to the Ministry of State for Commerce and Industry.

In contrast, the import of toys has witnessed a substantial decline of 57%, dropping from US$ 371.69 million in 2018-19 to US$ 158.70 million in 2022-23.

Experts highlighted the government’s proactive endeavours to bolster the domestic toy industry. They further mentioned that the cumulative count of industries registered under the ministry from January 1991 to July 31, 2023, stands at 110,525.
