PM’s visit to Egypt: India and Egypt sign MoUs to enhance ties

The discussions between PM Modi and President El-Sisi focused on a wide range of areas for bilateral cooperation and assessed the developments in Egypt and the world

A total of four Memorandums of Understandings (MoU) were signed

The pacts were signed to enhance political and security cooperation, strengthen defence collaboration, and foster trade and investment ties

Other agreements included promoting scientific and academic collaboration and reinforcing people-to-people connections

They signed more pacts covering agriculture and allied sectors, the protection and preservation of monuments and archaeological sites, and competition law

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s discussions with Egypt’s President El-Sisi, India and Egypt signed a pact to elevate their ties to ‘Strategic Partnership’. The duo discussed various bilateral cooperation and significant regional and global issues. 

The conversation between both leaders focused on a wide range of areas for bilateral cooperation and assessed the developments in Egypt and the world. The discussions and subsequent signing of the MoUs and agreements emphasized enhancing political and security cooperation, strengthening defence collaboration, fostering trade and investment ties, promoting scientific and academic collaboration, and reinforcing people-to-people connections.

In addition to the strategic partnership agreement, India and Egypt signed three more pacts covering areas such as agriculture and allied sectors, protecting and preserving monuments and archaeological sites, and competition law. 

These agreements signify the commitment of both nations to deepen their engagement and foster mutually beneficial relationships across various domains.
