India’s rural internet user base has surpassed the number of urban users, making it the world’s number one in digital transactions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced last week during the inauguration of several railway projects.

Modi emphasized that India has been witnessing a revolution in terms of infrastructure and that over 600,000 km of optic fibre has been laid connecting almost 200,000 Gram Panchayats.

The Prime Minister also noted that new generation infra projects will begin to serve the people, covering roadways, railways, and airways.
