Govt grants approval to 34 electronic manufacturers under scheme

The government has granted approval to 34 electronic components manufacturing proposals, amounting to INR 11,187 crore until March 30, 2023, according to The Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar. 

The government launched a Scheme for the Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components (SPECS) on April 1, 2020, and received applications from domestic companies until March 30, 2023.

As of March 30, 2023, a total of 120 applications were submitted under SPECS, and all of them were from domestic companies. 

Out of the applications received, Tata Electronics, Samsung Display Noida Pvt Ltd, Salcomp Technologies, Sahasra Semiconductors, IdemiaSyscom, Deki Electronics, Molex India, and Continental Device India Pvt Ltd are among the companies whose proposals have been approved under the scheme.
