India’s National Logistics Policy is expected to accelerate growth and increase the country’s participation in global trade, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Modi said that India’s MSME sector and farmers will largely benefit from this policy. The Policy, which recently gained approval from the government, aims to decrease the transportation cost and also improve the global performance of the logistics sector. It was unveiled last week by the Prime Minister.
On another note, the government has recently launched a second Product Linked Scheme (PLI) for High-Efficiency Solar PV Modules. In relation to this, the Prime Minister said that the scheme will enhance manufacturing in the sector and boost investment.
The government has also revised the PLI scheme for semiconductors recently, by providing a uniform reimbursement of 50% to all project costs for the companies in the sector. This is with the aim to make India a global semiconductor manufacturing hub.
