The medical and healthcare sector witnessed a 7% increase while the FMCG sector saw marginal growth in hiring activity as compared to a year earlier.
The insurance sector witnessed the highest growth at 74% in February ‘22.
Kolkata witnessed a 56% increase in hiring activity, followed by Bangalore at 49%, Mumbai and Chennai at 45%, Hyderabad at 43%, Pune at 41% and Delhi at 30%.
Amongst non-metro cities, Coimbatore recorded the highest increase in the hiring activity at 57%, Ahmedabad at 32% and Kochi at 16%.
The hiring activity in India witnessed an increase of 31% in February 2022 with multiple sectors recording a strong growth compared to the previous year, as per a report by Naukri.com. In February 2022, the job postings stood at 3,704 on the job platform, as compared to 2,356 in the same month of the previous year, according to data by Naukri’s JobSpeak Index.
Hiring activity across Industries:
The insurance sector witnessed the highest growth at a robust 74% while the retail sector followed closely at 64% in February 2022. IT-software/software services and banking/financial services increased by 41% and 35%, respectively with pharma (34%), hospitality (41%) and telecom (23%) sectors also demonstrating consistent growth.
In addition, the auto industry grew by 12% in February 2021 after a sluggish period.

Approximately 3,074 jobs were posted on the Naukri Job Search Platform in February 2022 as compared to the same period last year.
