Chutuk Hydel Project

Land acquisition for the 44 MW project has been completed. Presently work on the project is in full swing in three shifts. Diversion of Channel has been completed and river Suru stands diverted and work on barrage construction started.

Kirthai Hydel Power

Set up by J&K State Power Development Corp Ltd in Doda, the project involves setting up of a new unit, for which CEA approval is awaited.

Z-Morh Tunnel Project

National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corp Ltd. is developing a tunnel in Ganderbal in PPP mode. It is currently in the planning stage.

Solar and Hydro Power Projects

The NHPC is commissioning the establishment of Hydro Power projects in Nimmo Bazgo and Chutak in addition to Takmaching, Khalsi and Kanyunche. A Solar Power project is expected to be set up in Phyang.

The Atal Tunnel

A 9.2 km tunnel built along the Rohtang Pass connecting Leh to Manali has been completed by the Border Roads Organization. The travel time between the two locations is expected to brought down to less than an hour.
